Building Strong Foundations at Bright Beginner’s Academy Pre-K

At Bright Beginner’s Academy, our Pre-K program is designed to lay the groundwork for lifelong learning by incorporating structure and routines that help children develop positive school behaviors. These essential skills—such as working in small groups, listening attentively, making thoughtful choices, taking turns, problem-solving, and building peer relationships—create a supportive and engaging learning environment for your child.

We’re committed to helping every child grow socially, emotionally, and academically. To learn more about our Pre-K program and admissions, call us today at (219) 322-1636.

Pre Kindergarten Schedule (Ages 4 - 5 years)

All of our classrooms follow a daily schedule with their class! Our amazing teachers here at BBA create a schedule that works for their specific room. See below for a general example.

Arrival & Breakfast

Open - 9:00 AM

Children can play quietly and eat breakfast. After they finish eating they can choose from various activities in the learning centers until most children have arrived.

Circle Time

9:00 AM - 9:30 AM

We start our day by getting together as a class to welcome each other and to talk briefly about the plans we have created for the day. We will also do things like reading books or singing songs!

Centers

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Centers are such an important part of our classrooms! Centers usually involve small group activities. Your child will have different centers that they will rotate between such as creative arts, dramatic play, blocks, read, age-appropriate science or math activities, or write!

Morning Snack

10:30 AM - 10:45 AM

It’s time to eat a healthy snack to prepare us for more fun and learning!

Outdoor Play

10:45 AM - 11:45 AM

It’s time to get some fresh air! Children mostly play on their own using their imagination or do a group activity led by their teacher.

Lunch

11:45 AM - 12:30 PM

Time to wash our hands and eat a delicious and nutritious lunch!

Transition

12:30 PM - 1:00 PM

Everyone helps clean up for lunch, use the bathroom, and get ready to rest!

Nap time

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Quiet time! Most children will nap, but if they happen to never fall asleep or wake up early, they are more than welcome to do quiet time activities such as looking at a book or puzzles!

P.M Snack

3:00 PM - 3:15 PM

They will enjoy another nutritious snack provided by the center.

Group Time

3:15 PM - 3:45 PM

After a busy day, it is time to talk as a class about all of the activities that we did that day, and to discuss the activities planned for the following day! We will also sing songs or read a book as well.

Outdoor Play

3:45 PM - 4:30 PM

It is time to go outside again! Children might do an activity as a class together or choose to play on their own.

Free Play and Pick Up

4:30 PM - Close

At this time, children are given the space to explore and play in the activity centers on their own.
